The authors discuss the items that characterise a modern Clinical Pathology, designed like service around patients. Theoretical hypothesis and national and international actual realisations are described, such as results reported and verified outcomes from literature and from experiences. The thesis of the SIMeL (Italian Society of Laboratory Medicine) is here shown, to be discussed with other scientific societies, and with the other subjects, actors and stakeholders, linked together in the realisation of the new service project. At the end, the authors tray to draw the professional profile of a new Clinical Pathologist, playing his role through culture, law, organisation and clinic governance applied at laboratory medicine. The new Pathology is shown as an essential part of the clinical “iter” for the patient, as a specialist role among the others, using EBM rules. |
